Responsibilities:

• WebMD is searching for a Motion Graphics Designer who specializes in the visual development and preparation of graphics for animation.
• The Designer will work closely with the in-house motion graphics team to create high-quality style frames and production-ready assets that serve as the blueprint for our video projects.
• The core of this role is bridge-building: creating visually appealing, diverse assets in Adobe Illustrator that are structured specifically for animation in After Effects.
• You will be responsible for translating project briefs, ranging from highly specific storyboards to vague conceptual prompts, into polished visual styles.
• The Motion Assets Designer must have a deep understanding of the "motion workflow." You won't be the primary animator, but you must possess the foresight to organize layers and elements for an animation workflow.
• Sharp attention to detail and the ability to design across various brand aesthetics are a must.
• The Motion Assets Designer will be required to interact with Editorial, Program Managers and the larger multimedia team.
• The candidate must have the ability to consistently create designs that match established brand standards while pushing the creative envelope to improve quality.
• Please provide a portfolio or link to a reel showcasing style frames, vector illustration and layout design.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or similar years of graphic design or visual development experience.
• 2+ years of professional design experience, preferably creating assets for video or motion teams.
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Foundational knowledge of Adobe After Effects - understanding how to prep files for animation.
• Proven ability to create Style Frames that define the look and feel of a project before production begins.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects with varying deadlines.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to explain design choices to non-designers.
• Willingness to work independently and be receptive to creative direction from motion designers.

Preferred:

• Experience in 3D modeling and design (Cinema 4D, Blender, Adobe Stager).
• Experience with Unreal Engine or real-time rendering environments.
• Knowledge of AI design tools for concepting and rapid prototyping.
• Conceptual understanding of how 2D assets translate into 3D spaces.
• Creative problem-solving skills, especially regarding file optimization and workflow efficiency.
